How the tax code checker works
Your tax code answers are worked out in your browser. You do not need to create an account, and this checker does not ask for your name, IRD number, or other identity details.
When you switch language on the checker, your current answers may be kept in your browser session so you do not need to start again immediately.
Analytics and cookies
This site uses Google Analytics 4 to measure page visits and general site usage. Analytics may use cookies and may receive technical information such as IP address, browser type, approximate location, and pages visited.
This site also loads web fonts from Google Fonts. When those font files are requested, your browser connects to Google font services.
What this site does not claim
This site is unofficial and is not affiliated with Inland Revenue, MSD, or Work and Income. Use it as a guide only, and confirm anything unclear with the official payer or agency.
Managing cookies
You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking cookies may affect analytics, but the main tax code question flow should still work with JavaScript enabled.
